All About Luggage at Azul
Check out sizes, what to bring, how to solve problems, and more about checked, carry-on, and personal, or special luggage.
If your luggage exceeds the above limits, check-in fees may be charged.
Check the fee values in the "Checked Luggage" tab.
Your carry-on luggage should go in the overhead compartment
And remember: if the flight is highly occupied, the company may check it in for you free of charge. The baggage can also be checked in for other criteria.
Your personal item should go under the seat in front of you
If the item does not fit in that space, it may also have to be checked. In these cases, there are fees for checking, which you can check in the "Checked Luggage" tab.
Items that can or cannot be taken in carry-on luggage
In addition to clothes, shoes, and personal items, you can bring in your carry-on items such as food, as well as small umbrellas without sharp points.
The transportation of liquids in carry-on luggage has specific rules for flights in Brazil and for international flights. Some examples of liquids are: water, drinks, shampoo, creams, gel, toothpaste, perfume, among others.
On flights in Brazil, you can carry as many bottles as you want, but each product must have a maximum of 300 g or 300 ml. In addition, the liquids in the suitcase cannot exceed 1.2 kg or 1.2 L, adding up all the bottles.
For international flights, liquids must be in bottles of up to 100 ml, loosely placed inside the suitcase. And they need to be put in a transparent, sealed plastic bag, with a maximum capacity of 1 liter.
Remember: it is important that the liquids are well stored to prevent leaks.
Valuable or fragile items must be carried in carry-on luggage, such as: money, negotiable papers, jewelry, banking, work or identification documents, keys, medications, and electronic equipment (computers, USB drives, media players, cameras, camcorders, cell phones, among others).
Some electronic equipment exceeds the measurements of carry-on or checked luggage and falls under special luggage, with specific rules. Learn more about special luggage items here.
Items such as explosive and flammable materials, as well as chemical and toxic substances, are strictly prohibited, such as:
- Acids
- Liquid fuel
- Detonators
- Fire extinguishers
- Fireworks
- Gas
- Compressed gases
- Grenades
- Radioactive materials
- Poisons
The Federal Government also has a page with items allowed or not in carry-on luggage. Check the full list here.
