Important: If all your flights are operated by other Airlines, please contact us for more information: +55 11 4003 3255. Customers with flights from Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) are allowed to board with one carry-on luggage and one special item, which will be analyzed by Azul members at the check-in. This item should follow the rules reported below on this page, such as fitting below the aircraft seat. The rules for hand luggage are defined and updated by the regulatory agency.

Flights from Buenos Aires: By PSA de Ezeiza's instruction, for intra-continental flights, only 3 bottles of wine are allowed to be dispatched, the greater amount will be the responsibility of the client, at the risk of local police requesting their disposal. We recommend carrying the amount of up to 5 liters as carry-on luggage. All bottles should be sealed and contain up to 1 liter of contents and up to 24% alcohol.

Attention: Information about Hoverboards

We are unable to transport this type of equipment, due to air transportation security restrictions. Restrictions are valid for both domestic and international flights.

Magnetic Objects:

They are considered dangerous goods due to their influence in some aircraft equipment, putting air traffic at risk. The most common magnetic material in the luggage are the speakers present in sound equipment, amplifiers or speakers. In this way Azul will limit the transport as carry-on or checked baggage the equipment for which the sum of measures (Length + Width + Height) does not exceed 95cm and is limited to one piece of equipment per passenger. Equipment that exceeds the sum of the above measures should be directed to the Cargo sector.

Carry on luggage

For non-checked baggage there are also rules on size and weight: the weight limit is 10 kilos (22 lbs) and the size should not exceed 115 cm (48.2 in.)

Special baggage

Sport equipment can be transported and will be charged an additional fee of US$ 150.00.

Liquids

All liquids, including gel, paste, cream, aerosol and alike must be in containers with the capacity of 100 ml and placed in a transparent, sealed plastic container with a capacity of 1 liter, not exceeding the dimensions of 20 x 20 cm (7.87 in);

Liquids in containers above 100ml can’t be transported, even if the container is partially full;

The bottles must be adequately wrapped within a transparent plastic bag, completely en-closed;

The plastic bag must be presented at the boarding inspection, allowing only one plastic bag per customer;

Purchased liquids at Duty Free shops or on board may exceed the stipulated limits, since disposed in sealed plastic packaging and the receipt visible (which date shall be the same as the beginning of the flight) for customers boarding or on connection;

Medication (with prescription), baby food and special dietary liquids may be carried in the quantity needed to use the full length of flight (including stops) and must be presented at time of safety inspection;

Baggage - flight conection with jetblue

Checked bag requirements for Dominican Republic, Haiti, Peru and Trinidad & Tobago.

Customers checking baggage for travel to/from the following destinations must follow the guidelines below.

Please note that boxes WILL NOT be allowed on any international flight. Non-hazardous items may be packed in checked baggage; however, JetBlue will not be liable damage to any fragile items packed within a checked bag (i.e. televisions, electronics, etc.). Humanitarian organizations transporting supplies will be subject to the same baggage allowances and guidelines as other customers.

Dominican Republic, Haiti and Trinidad & Tobago

  • Each customer may check a total of two (2) bags. First checked bag is included for flights to/from SDQ, STI, PAP, and POS.
  • Each bag must NOT exceed 62 inches (157.48 centimeters) in overall dimensions (length + width + height) and CANNOT exceed 50 pounds (22.68 kg). Baggage dimensions are determined by adding the length, width, and height together.
  • Additional baggage and bags that exceed the overall dimensions or weight WILL NOT be allowed onboard flights to/from the Dominican Republic*, Haiti, or Trinidad & Tobago.
  • *Additional baggage will be accepted on flights to/from La Romana, Dominican Republic.

Peru

  • Customers traveling to/from Lima, Peru may check one (1) bag as a courtesy only if the bag is 50 pounds (22.73 kg) or less and 62 inches (157.48 centimeters) or less.
  • A second bag may be checked for a fee.
  • Maximum number of checked bags is two (2), and maximum allowed weight is 70 pounds (31.75 kg) each.
  • Each bag must NOT exceed 62 inches (157.48 centimeters) in overall dimensions (length + width + height). Baggage dimensions are determined by adding the length, width, and height together.
  • Overweight/oversize fees will be applicable to baggage outside of the limitations above - seeChecked Baggage Requirements.

Carriage of Cremation Ashes - United States and Brazil

Carriage of cremation ashes is not subject to sanitary control, provided it is accompanied by all the relevant documentation and the cause of death is not associated with any infectious and contagious disease, in addition to complying with all the packaging requirements. The following documents are needed for transport:

International Transport (From Brazil)

  • Death certificate issued by a Civil Registry;
  • Corpse removal authorization issued by the local police authority;
  • Exhumation license of human remains issued by the institution, when it pertains to transfer of human remains;
  • Cremation declaration of the corpse issued on the institution’s letterhead, when it pertains to transfer of human remains;
  • Certificate issued by the consular authority certifying that the urn, properly sealed, contains the corpse and its attire only, for international transfer of a corpse and of human remains;
  • Document that identifies and specifies the applicant for the transfer (original document and copy);
  • Identification document of the deceased to be transferred;
  • Statement of responsibility issued by the funeral services company.

International Transport (From Abroad):

  • Death certificate or official certificate of cause of death issued by the relevant institution. This document must specify that the cause of death is not associated with any diseases considered as infectious and contagious;
  • Exhumation license of human remains issued by the institution that provided the services, whenever applicable;
  • Cremation declaration of the corpse issued on the institution’s letterhead, when applicable to transfer human remains/ashes;
  • Certificate issued by the consular authority certifying that the urn, properly sealed, contains the corpse and its attire only, for international transfer of a corpse and of human remains, in case of international transport;
  • Transit License containing the name, surname and age of the deceased, issued by the relevant authority in the country where death has occurred, in case of international transport;
  • Document that identifies and specifies the applicant for the transfer (original document and copy);
  • Statement of responsibility issued by the funeral services company.

Packaging recommendations: The urn must be hermetically sealed and must be placed in a resistant and waterproof cardboard box. Cushioning material must be used, such as bubble wrap, to avoid shock and breakage. We recommend that the packages are discrete and of good quality.

 

You can check extra luggage for an additional cost through our digital channels or at the airport check-in counter. However, please note, if the weight of each piece of luggage exceeds 23 kg or the maximum dimensions allowed of 158 cm (sum of all sides), a flat fee will be charged for excess luggage.
