For passengers who need to get around in a wheelchair, Azul has a differentiated service to guarantee any necessary assistance. You can request this service the moment you make your purchase on our sales channels, through the Call Center (11) 4003-1118 or during your check-in.
The dispatch of the wheelchair is free of charge.

Please note the following information as we have some restrictions:

  • Wheelchair or lithium ion/metal lithium battery powered mobility equipment. If your wheelchair has one of these specifications, it should be foldable and the batteries easily removed to allow folding. In such cases, you should carry them in your carry-on baggage, in isolation to avoid short-circuiting the aircraft. For this type of battery, the maximum power allowances are: One battery of up to 300Wh or two batteries up to 160Wh each. In both cases, the batteries must be installed in the wheelchair.
    *It is only allowed as checked baggage.
  • Non-spillable battery powered wheelchair or mobility equipment with VRLA [Valve-Regulated Lead-Acid] or AGM [Absorbent Glass Mat] (Gel) technology If your wheelchair has one of these specifications, whether it is foldable or not, it must be off to avoid short-circuiting the aircraft. The maximum power should be 12V.(AD03).
    *It is only allowed as checked baggage.
  • Spillable Battery
    We do not transport this type of battery.

Important: Azul does not carry batteries with corrosive liquids on its aircraft. The transportation of gel-based batteries, AGM model and lithium batteries is authorized, as determined by Article 48 of Administrative Rule 676 of the Civil Aviation Department, in the following ways:

  • Non-removable, which are dispatched with the chair;
  • The removable batteries only board as carry-on baggage (the battery and the chair are separated).
  • Available during purchase on the website, Azul Center and at the airport.

If you need to travel carrying baby strollers, there is no charge, as long as your child is between 0 and 2 years old. But stay connected, on international flights, babies on the lap are entitled to a luggage of up to 10 kg plus 1 stroller or 1 Car seat or 1 infant rocker per child.

Models of baby strollers that fit within the dimensions 35 x 25 x 55 cm (length x width x height) totaling a maximum of 115 centimeters and having a maximum of 10 kg can be taken aboard. All other models must be dispatched and no fee will be charged.

You can check extra luggage for an additional cost through our digital channels or at the airport check-in counter. However, please note, if the weight of each piece of luggage exceeds 23 kg or the maximum dimensions allowed of 158 cm (sum of all sides), a flat fee will be charged for excess luggage.

It is very close to your flight so you can only buy baggage directly at the airport.
