Over the four years since its creation, Azul has transformed the Brazilian commercial aviation scenario. May 2012 was the date of an important landmark event for the company: Azul and Trip entered into an agreement that, when ratified by regulators, will result in the third largest airline in Brazil, reinforcing the reputation of the airline that combines competitiveness with the highest standard of services in the country. Together, Azul and Trip account for 100 destinations, 121 aircraft, 840 daily flights, and about 15% of the domestic air travel market.
Azul has the newest and most modern fleet of airliners in the country, offering the last word in comfort and safety for its customers. In 2012, Azul was elected the best low-cost airline in the world by CAPA – Centre for Aviation and for the second year in a row, it was heralded as the “Best Airline in Brazil” by Viagem e Turismo magazine. In addition to these notable achievements, Azul and Trip made a clean sweep in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2012 categories of “Best Low-Cost Airline of Latin America” and “Best Regional Airline of South America”, respectively.
